A Different Angle on News

Lecture 12 covered trading news events as a deliberate strategy. This lecture is about something that applies far more broadly - whether or not you ever intend to trade the news itself, any open position can be affected by it. A value investor holding a JSE bank stock, a swing trader running a pairs trade, someone simply holding through a quiet week. All of them can be blindsided by a major release if they’re not tracking what’s coming.
