Last lecture, we ended on a warning: a candlestick pattern only really means something in the context of the broader trend. So before we go any further with patterns and indicators, we need to nail down exactly what a trend line is, how to draw one properly, and just as importantly - how to tell a genuine break in the trend from noise that doesn't mean anything.
