Box sitting at R83.50 and you're basically betting on whether they can compete when Shoprite and Spar have way more scale. Margins in food retail are brutal, pharma side keeps them breathing but it's not enough to move the needle if grocery keeps getting squeezed.

BOX still sitting pretty at R83.50 but retail cycle is brutal right now. Pharma side keeping them afloat when food margins get squeezed, but that's not enough if load-shedding keeps hammering foot traffic. Long term only works if they can hold shelf space against Shoprite and Pick n Pay without bleeding cash on the grocery side.

interesting numbers on the last set, gross margin held up better than i expected given the rand pressure. fwiw the store count is still growing which suggests management thinks theres room in the market, but the real question is whether foot traffic actually justifies the capex when you look at the comps retailers are running. could be wrong but if they can keep costs flat through next year theres a decent floor here around the mid 70s.

good morning everyone, boxer sitting at r75.86 and the retail food space is tight but boxer's pharmacy side keeps them different from shoprite. gross margins holding steady, store count stable, ngl the debt levels are what most traders worry about but if they keep cash flow steady through load-shedding season this could find legs.

Box holding above R75 is decent but retail locally is brutal man. Groceries under pressure, pharma side keeping things afloat but margins getting squeezed. Comparable to Shoprite and Pick n Pay, all struggling with input costs and load-shedding killing the till. Long term only works if they cut costs or get scale, otherwise trapped.

Box still printing decent earnings even with all the load shedding headaches hitting everyone. Margin pressure is real but the pharmacy side keeps them stable, not like some of the pure grocery plays. Been nibbling under R76, good day to top up if you believe in the defensive retail story.

BOX down 1.65% but the market's being too harsh here, valuation's not stretched and retail's grinding through a tough cycle. Reckon the dividend yield more than compensates for near-term noise if you've got the stomach for it.

BOX finally catching up after that 1.50% pop today. Still trading at a significant discount to Shoprite on a P/E basis, which either means deep value or there's a reason the market prefers JSE's bigger player. Revenue growth has been sluggish compared to peers, so the valuation g

Boxer down 1.12% today but I'm looking at what the company actually makes, not just the daily wobble. With that price, we need to check if they're making real money from their stores or if the valuation is catching up to slower sales.

BOX holding steady at R8750 today, but is anyone else worried about how load-shedding is hitting their store operations? Wonder if this is reflected in their earnings yet.

Picked up some BOX at R8674 today after that modest uptick, mainly because the consumer discretionary space is offering better dividend yields than bonds right now, though I'll admit the retail environment remains choppy and I'm treating this as a satellite position rather than a

BOX up 2.31% to R8798 today, and I'm reminded of the retail resilience cycles we've seen since the mid-90s when the big-box format first challenged traditional distribution. The question isn't whether Boxer can move higher on a single day, but whether management can sustain margi

BOX up 3.66% today to R8242 is tracking better than Shoprite (SHP) which has been range-bound, though that's more a function of BOX's smaller float amplifying moves rather than fundamental outperformance. The real question is whether the bounce holds given consumer weakness persi

BOX up 4% today, sitting at R8270. Anyone else jumping in on the retail recovery or you reckon there's more room to run with the economy picking up?
