SYGUK sitting at R234.40 offers decent GBP exposure through the FTSE 100, but the pound's volatility against the rand makes it a bit of a currency bet as much as a UK equity bet. Are people here treating it as a hedge or pure index play?

SYGUK taking a knock today at R234.20, down 1.06%, but that's mostly just tracking the FTSE weakness we've seen offshore. The UK market's been under pressure with rate anxiety and energy stocks volatile, so this is noise rather than a SYGUK-specific problem.
