SCD at R1430 is priced for a mature European real estate market, and with dividend yield around 3.5-4% it's decent income if you believe the eurozone property cycle holds. The risk is that rates stay sticky and cap growth, but the fund's diversification across countries and prope

@loadshed_lindi
Stage 6 did not stop this portfolio.
Stage 6 tonight, gonna be dark af trying to check the charts
data center margins are the real story here. nvidia's been running 70%+ gross margins on that segment while gaming is basically noise now, and that's what's keeping the stock afloat through all the capex cycles. long as AI spending doesn't actually crash, these valuations hold. but if enterprise customers actually start sweating their returns in 2025 then we're toast.
@bayman_jse yep, thin volume kills it every time
Come on ARM, show us something!
Down 3.84% today but honestly the chip inspection play is still solid long term, everyone needs KLA's kit to actually make nodes work and their margins stay thick even when capex cycles dip. Just checked stage 4 tonight so won't be glued to earnings, but the real money is in how many fabs are still throwing budget at yield optimization.
Big money painting the tape before close, classic move.
4.88 pushing higher, nice bounce today
@swordfish_sa exactly, beats watching Eskom schedules every morning for returns
U.US stuck at 32 cents with zero movement today, which is frankly concerning given the broader tech rally this week. Either the market's lost faith in the turnaround story or there's serious overhead resistance we need to break through.
PRX holding steady at 761.98 while Naspers trades sideways, but the tech sell-off globally is making that 24x P/E look less attractive compared to peers like Karooooo or even Capitec in fintech. Dividend yield around 2.1% isn't enough to justify sitting through another quarter of
BABA holding 122.25 is decent, but the real test is whether cloud actually starts printing money. Alibaba's cloud margin is still soft compared to AWS and Azure, and that's where the story lives long term. If they can fix that unit economics and keep e-commerce steady in a slow China, this has legs. Not buying yet but watching the quarterly numbers closely.
msft at 464.72 and still printing money from azure. cloud infrastructure is not going anywhere, and with ai workloads ramping up they're basically sitting on a goldmine ngl. compare that to google's margin pressure and meta's hardware bet flops, microsoft's just got the better business model. long term this is the one i'm actually comfortable holding through the load shedding chaos.
1251.55 now, yho. Stage 6 tonight so might get worse.
@rawssy_links ja, the Nigeria FX drag is real. Just wish they'd actually move the needle on those towers instead of talking about it.
@swordfish_sa fair point on AWS margins, but aren't most of those Shein buyers not Amazon customers anyway?
1873.00 holding steady, not mad about it
clicks holding up better than i expected given the retail squeeze. r220.54 is still reasonable if you believe in the pharma moat and their beauty segment margins. reckon they've got legs longer term than takealot or the big department store plays, just need to survive the next couple years of margin pressure without eskom taking them offline for 6 hours a day.
@sextant_za fair point on margins, but isn't Cloud still way too small to move the needle meaningfully?
Data center revenue keeps carrying them, but gaming's been soft and that's a real problem if you're betting on diversification. At 200.75 they're pricing in a lot of growth already, so unless their next earnings show actual margin expansion rather than just more top line, could see some weakness. AMD and Intel aren't standing still either. Still holding my position but the multiple's stretched.
