@jozi_janet nah man, down 4% and spot gold not moving, whats the catalyst today?
ANG SITTING AT R1484 AND PPL FREAKING OUT, GOLD PRICES STILL STRONG THO!! NEWMONT AND BARRICK BOTH RALLIED HARD WHEN SPOT GOLD STAYED UP, SAME THING WILL HAPPEN HERE!! R1500 IS NOTHING, WE SMASH THRU THAT AND KEEP RUNNING!! LFG!!
Gold looking solid above R1480, ANG holding decent at R1484 close. Rand weakness helps but the real story is production costs staying down while spot stays up, that margin is where the money is. Long-term view hasn't changed, don't even check the SP come back in 6 months.
After reading the latest MD&A, key takeaways for me are the all-in sustaining costs holding steady while spot gold keeps doing the heavy lifting, but the real question is whether they can actually grow ounces without capex spiralling. Ngl the rand weakness helps the rand-based operations but that's a coin flip, not a strategy. R1484 feels fair until we see production guidance actually hit, otherwise it's just a leveraged gold bet wrapped in a JSE ticker.
Gold sitting strong globally so the rand weakness should help ANG when rand tanks. Yeah we're below R1500 but mines don't turn off because of a bad week, production's still there. Compare to Harmony, they're doing okayish with way less upside, ANG's got the assets.
gold holding up well against rand weakness, good dip buying opportunity at these levels
ANG sitting at R1484 and change, gold still holding up but the rand strength is a headwind. Company's debt levels came down last year which is solid, but margins getting squeezed when you factor in power costs and safety spend. If gold stays above 2k usd and rand doesn't tank further could be decent value here, but watch the next quarterly numbers closely.
Gold's been strong but ANG's still sitting under R1500, do you think the rand strength is masking how weak their actual production numbers are. Not sure about this one until I see the next quarterly.
closed at 1484.31, big test coming at 1500. gold prices holding up but rand strength is the real headwind for ang right now, eats into those rand revenues. if we get a proper rand dump on load-shedding panic or rate cuts, this could finally run.
algos pumping it up now, wonder how long this holds
algos running the show again, classic midday dump before close
LFG, gold holding strong here
