Added to BRN at R5.56 because the dividend yield is compelling for a financials play and the balance sheet hasn't deteriorated despite the tough environment, though I'm keeping the position modest until we see clearer earnings momentum.

Trimmed my BRN position at R5.75 after the recent run, P/E sits around 8x which is cheap but the financials sector rotation is sketchy right now so taking profits makes sense.

BRN up 10.48% to R5.80 today, that's a lekker move for the stack. Need to see if this holds or if it's just profit-taking relief after the recent beatdown.

BRN still sitting on decent yields, just needs volume back

been digging into the latest numbers on BRN and the portfolio weighting is pretty thin across too many holdings, feels like they're not really adding value as a consolidator. compare that to something like PSG or Remgro where you actually see operational synergies and the math makes more sense for holding versus just owning the stocks direct.

BRN sitting at R5.00 and people are worried about what exactly, the portfolio quality. Look at what Bimtech and Curro were doing pre-revenue, now look at them. This is a holding company that'll compound through its stakes, not a quick flip. People need patience or get out of the way.

BRN sitting at R5.06 but holdings portfolio looks thin relative to market cap, ngl. What's the actual yield on their stakes or are we just paying for the holding company discount.

brn sitting at r5.06 and honestly feels like a waiting game. holding stakes in financial services but the returns haven't exactly blown anyone away, kinda feels like you're paying for potential that keeps getting pushed out. comparing it to other investment holdings locally, the nav discount is getting annoying. gonna be shocked if this breaks out without some actual earnings catalyst, could be a patient hold but frustrating as hell though.

BRN sitting at R5.71 is criminally undervalued for a holding company with the portfolio they've built. People complaining about no earnings are missing the point, these things compound over years not quarters. Look at what Berkshire was before it became Berkshire, same playbook.

BRN closed at R5.71 which is basically nowhere near where it should be if you actually look at the portfolio holdings. Guys are sitting on decent stakes in financial services names and the discount to NAV is just silly. Long term play if the rand steadies out a bit, these investment holding comps always have their day.

BRN playing like the Lions lately, ngl, plenty of potential nowhere

BRN's been a dog for years ngl but the portfolio mix is finally looking interesting. Holdings in fintech and insurance are actually worth something if management can stop sitting on their hands. R5.71 is still cheap if they sort out the capital allocation, otherwise just another holding company taking a cut for doing nothing.

Took a knock today at minus 4% so I'm holding tight rather than chasing it lower, reckon the financials sector needs a proper catalyst before I even think about averaging down on this one.

interesting numbers on brimstone lately, nav per share trending ok but the discount to peers is still chunky. management's been quiet on deployment which imo matters more than the holding itself, fwiw. R5.50 pricing in some caution but the yield's not terrible if they actually put capital to work properly.
