Prosus makes money by owning pieces of internet businesses around the world, mostly in poorer countries where they grow faster than here. So when Naspers or fintech companies in Brazil do well, PRX's share price usually follows because it owns a chunk of them. For a R1000 holding, if PRX goes up 5% you make about R50, but you're also betting on those other businesses doing well, not just one thing.
